Ensign Double 8
This camera was launched c.1935. by Houghton-Butcher Manufacturing Co Ltd. It is a folding bellows camera that shoots 127 film. It has an Ensar Anastigmat f/4.5 focusing lens with a 50mm focal length that focuses down to 3ft. Its shutter has a slowest speed of 1/25 and a fastest speed of 1/100. There are also time and bulb settings for long exposures. The resulting negatives are 3x4cm and it can shoot 16 frames. This explains its name as it gives you double the frames on standard 8 frame film. These cameras aren't particularly common and when they do crop up on auction sites they are usually in poor condition. Apparently when it was launched it cost £3.12.6.
It is the only camera in the collection bonkers enough to require holding upside down to take a picture.
It is also TINY!
